Replace a License or ID
If your Maryland driver’s license or ID card is lost, destroyed, or stolen license, you can get a duplicate license from the MVA. A duplicate is an official replacement that has the same license number and expiration date as your original license. The MVA does not require a police report if your license is lost or stolen in to order a replacement.
If you have a myMVA online services account, you can order a duplicate license quickly and easily. Creating an account can save you time and effort.

More information about duplicate licenses or IDs
Maryland does not require you to report a lost license to the MVA just because it is lost or destroyed. You may choose to file a police report if your license was stolen, but it is not required for a license replacement.
If you cannot request your duplicate online or visit a kiosk, contact the MVA Customer Service Center for more help.
