3-Year Vehicle Registration and Renewal

PURPOSE OF BULLETIN
To advise all interested Business Partners of the changes in Customer Connect which will allow businesses and individuals to register or renew a vehicle for a 3-year period.

SUMMARY
Effective February 3, 2025, the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) will offer a registration period of up to three years on each new vehicle registration or registration renewal.

REFUND OF REGISTRATION FEES
If a 2-year or 3-year registration is cancelled before the start of a new registration year, the MVA will generally refund the fees paid for any unused registration year. The MVA will not process a refund if the registration is flagged or suspended. The refund will process once the flag is released or the suspension is withdrawn.

Please note that the vehicle registration payment schedule only applies when registering or renewing registration for a 1-year registration period. The payment schedule is not available for 2-year or 3-year registration period.
